Gåvetorps Gård
Gåvetorps Gård is a family-run country estate in southern Sweden offering a selection of accommodation - ranging from lakeside apartments at the manor to picturesque cottages at the edge of the forest. Dating from the 17th century, Gåvetorps Gård has many historic buildings, offering a unique setting for your visit.
Located between two lakes, the estate has 500 hectares of forest, meadows and farmland for you to explore. Activities on the estate include boating, swimming, hiking, cycling and berry-picking in the forest. Within cycling distance you will find picturesque villages, ancient churches, countryside cafes and fleamarkets. Farther afield the surrounding region of Småland has a range of exciting destinations for day trips including the original IKEA store (now a museum), the Kingdom of Crystal, Råshult - the birthplace of botanist Carl Linneaus, and Astrid Lindgren's World.
The nearby town of Alvesta has direct trains to Stockholm, Copenhagen and Gothenburg, as well as night trains to Hamburg and Berlin.

Situated on the shore of lake Dansjön, the apartments in the 18th century wings of the manor are perfect for those wanting direct access to the lake.
Scattered around the estate are traditional Swedish houses and cottages, which are ideal for those wanting private gardens in more secluded locations with direct access to the forest.
All guests have access to the lake for swimming, boating and picnicking.
All of our houses and apartments offer well-equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, and TV. Some have private outdoor space and fireplaces.
New! The Swedish Stone Barn available to rent
Over the past year we have renovated an old barn to create a modern home – the Swedish Stone Barn – which is now available to rent.
Located on a hill above the main estate, this unique house offers a simple and calm space closely intertwined with nature. The large south-facing private terrace offers views over forest and meadows.
Our most sustainable project to date, the house is powered by solar panels and has a charging point for your electric vehicle.
